A Week of Varying Light

It's really important to see a project in different lights. For this project, I mean that in every way I can think of.
Working on a project where the focus is light is an interesting experience; every time you look into your creation it's a little different. How much I like it when that happens varies at times, but that's when I look at my project in a different light metaphorically instead of literally. Working on projects using study models as well as sketches really can make a world of difference. It's been a slow transition from doing sketches and models only when they're assigned because I don't know what I'm doing to doing them when I feel like I need to develop or understand something more because I know where I want to be. Slow change is much better than no change though, it's easy to look back and see how much my process has improved since the start of last semester, it's really exciting.
One of my favorite things about having architecture as my major that doesn't have anything to do with how much I like architecture is being able to tell very easily how much I'm learning. I didn't get to take classes specifically about anything we've learned this year, the closest were art and history so the new information and skills I've developed are easily noted. I really do love learning, even the things that come from experience and take a while to solidify. I love all of it.
